Jorge Arrieta Sanagustín
Associate Professor (Titular Universitat)
Jorge is a tenured senior lecturer in Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) with a strong interdisciplinary profile, linking nonlinear dynamics, fluid mechanics, and biophysical systems, contributing to both theoretical and applied research in the Balearic academic context and beyond.
After his doctoral work, his research trajectory has emphasized computational fluid mechanics and the physicobiological coupling of active suspension. Over time, he has collaborated broadly with groups in active matter, photobioconvection, mixing in low Reynolds flows, and microbial motility.
At UIB, Dr. Arrieta has continued to publish in high-impact journals, with contributions to fluid mechanics, pattern formation, biological flows, and complexity in active systems. His role within the UIB also includes teaching advanced physics topics such as Biophysics. ## Education
